ICE Compression Therapy
The Science behind Game Ready
Game Ready System
Cryotherapy has long been recognized as a beneficial posttrauma treatment modality, The utilization of Intermittent Pneumatic Compression has been shown to be effective for prevention of edema formation, increasing blood flow, and stimulation of tissue healing. Although static compression is an effective therapy for edema reduction, the intermittent compression optimizes lymphatic drainage. Intermittent Pneumatic Compression can accelerate recovery from either intense exertion or injury, especially when the athlete is incapable of generating rhythmic muscle contractions. Improved lymphatic function accelerates healing through removal of edema from injured soft tissues.
Lyn Lake Chiropractic has two Game Ready Machines due to the increase of running injuries we are seeing at our clinic. Game Ready works great for Achilles pain, knee Pain, ankle pain, shoulder pain, foot pain, plantar fasciitis, ITB syndrome, runners knee pain, bursitis and many more injuries.
Game Ready System actively delivers cold and compression to help people recover more quickly from injuries or orthopedic surgery when used as part of the RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation) regimen, a standard of care in physical recovery therapy. Game Ready takes the two most difficult-to-manage aspects (ice and compression) to a new, active level.
Game Ready applies the same advanced technology used to regulate temperature and fluid-flow in spacesuits to comfortable “smart” wraps applied to the injured area that deliver advanced cold therapy and intermittent, active compression to keep fluids moving in and out of the affected area, with the goal of accelerated healing, decreased pain and greater comfort during the recovery process.
